Here are some common BAV rejection reasons.
An Incorrect account number is one of the most common reasons. Even a single incorrect digit will cause bank account verification to fail.
Fix: Compare the account number on your submission against a recent bank statement, or passbook.
An Incorrect or outdated IFSC code may cause the verification to fail.
Fix: Find your current IFSC on your latest bank statement or by searching for your branch on the official RBI website. Say for example if your bank has recently merged with another bank, or the branch location has shifted, then your IFSC may have changed.
Name mismatch with PAN. The account holder name on your bank account must match the name on your PAN. Even small differences can trigger a rejection, like in the example below:
- PAN: Priya Raj Sharma
- Bank: P R Sharma → mismatch
- PAN: Anil Kumar
- Bank: A Kumar → mismatch
Fix: Update either your bank account name or your PAN.
